President's Message

hew! Field day has come and gone, except for tallying our score.

Election of officers has been accomplished, well almost. We still need to nominate and elect someone for the Vice presidential post. The successful candidate will take charge of planning and implementing meeting programs and managing the other volunteer activities of the club. Speaking of volunteers, all of the officers and board members of PARC wish to thank the many volunteers who took time to assist in the raising of antennas, setting up of  stations, bringing food, operating for many hours through the night and then returning Sunday afternoon to close out the site.

This month's meeting will be on July 30, 2004 at Creston Park beginning about 6:00 p.m. for Bruce McCain, N7XB, to have his outstandingly successful VE test session and 6:30 for picnic style dinner. Everyone is encouraged to bring enough of their favorite picnic food to feed themselves and the President. No, not really! My XYL says she will take care of that!

We had a successful candidate (David Ott, KD7WRR) test last August at Creston Park and he returned to take his upgrade to General at the meeting at Kelly Butte Park on June 25th. I would have to say that tests outdoors agree with him. Congratulations!

In closing, with a year's experience under my hat, I hope to do a better job as PARC club President this year. See you at the picnic!
