Meeting and VE Session Announcement

t's summertime, it stays light late and it's too nice out to spend a Friday evening cooped up in the basement of Liberty Center.  Therefore, it's been decided to have a picnic at Creston Park on July 30, in lieu of a regular club meeting.  Directions to the park and pictures appear on pages 7 and 8.  To maximize available light, we'll start the serious picnicking at 6:30.  Some food will be provided, but the picnic is potluck. Family and guests are welcome.

The park pool has open swimming until 8:45 p.m., horseshoe pits, tennis courts, playground and trails to walk.  There will be a barbecue grille for cooking your dinner. A "Field Day" lasagna will be provided. A hidden transmitter on 2 meters will be running in the park, so bring your handhelds, hunting antennas and gear. We'll see who can find it in the shortest time.

For questions about the picnic, e-mail w7pr@arrl.net or call 503-771-1773 and leave a message.

The VE test session will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the park.  Please contact n7xb@arrl.net or w7lt@arrl.net or call 503-257-7320 to assure a spot.
