President's Message

eaPac and Field Day 2004 are here! These two events provide us with the opportunity to meet and greet potential members and provide them with information about the club and sign them up. If you go to the convention, please stop at the PARC booth and maybe take some time to watch the booth for a while so that others may take a break. Thank you in advance for your help! We greatly appreciate all of our volunteers. Events that weekend begin on Friday and run through Sunday afternoon for the big prize drawing.

A week later, Field Day weekend festivities begin midday Friday with the setup of antennas and operating positions on Kelly Butte in the park section. It is accessed from S.E. 103rd Ave. south off of S.E. Division.

Later on, Bruce McCain, N7XB, will put on his VE testing session at 6:30 p.m. in the park. At  7:00, we will have our monthly meeting which includes the election of officers and Directors and an out-line of our next years' activities. The program will be a discussion of contesting, especially as it applies to Field Day.

The Field Day operation itself begins at 11:00 Saturday and runs through Sunday. After the contest period ends Sunday, we take down our antennas and  disassemble stations. After the results of our operation are tabulated by our number crunchers, we will send in our results.

We hope that all of you will be able to participate in both week-ends. Please invite any and all hams and non-hams to visit the PARC booth at SeaPac  and Kelly Butte Field day site to see an ARRL Special Services club in action. See you there!
