President's Message

pring is upon us! Yard work to do! Painting put off from previous years can now be done!

More importantly, it's time to tune up antennas and  equipment for Field Day, Straight Key Night (July 4th) and numerous other events. We are going to be at Kelly Butte again this year for another great  event. From talking about previous years we are always learning ways to make things go better, score more points, etc. If you have not  participated in Field Day before or not in a long time, please let us know and we will plug you in somewhere!

Our April 16th meeting will be a very informative presentation on BPL (Broadband over Power Line). Be there to find out how we can make our  voices heard (individually and collectively).

Also, a spring time event that we have coming up is the election of next year's slate of officers. If you have one in mind or a list of candidates  you would like to see nominated and elected, now would be a good time to start thinking about them. That does not exclude throwing your own hat into the ring. Weather permitting we may plan  for a Kelly Butte Friday evening special meeting for the election of officers, story telling and strategy planning for the next days' events.

On a rather sad note, I am reporting the passing of Bill J. Fisher, W4AN, a man with a great love of amateur radio, especially contesting.  He was responsible for the creation of the contest.com reflectors that give us the opportunity to communicate about our favorite areas of  amateur radio. More about him can be found on www.ARRL.org or www.EHAM.net.

I look forward to seeing you all at the meeting
