Meeting and VE Session Announcement

embers of the team that represented PARC at the 1989 Friend-ship Radiosport Games held in Khabarovsk (at that time USSR) will be presenting the banquet program at the PARC Holiday Banquet, taking place at Shenanigans Saturday, December 20 at 1:30 p.m.  Details appear elsewhere in this issue.  There is no meeting Friday.

A VE test session will, however,  take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, December 19 in the conference room on the lower level of One Liberty Center, 650 NE Holladay St.  Please enter at the south side of the building.  Please contact n7xb@arrl.net or w7lt@arrl.net or call 503-257-7320 to assure a spot.

BPL: Every Little Bit Helps

lthough some of the Commissioners who were most enthusiastic about BPL have backed down in their support, there is no guarantee that FCC will pay any attention to the engineering studies and other comments against Broadband over Power Lines that have ensued from their Proposed Rulemaking.

PARC has undertaken to act as a collection agent for funds to go to the ARRL Spectrum Defense efforts.  So far, we have collected $230.00 with more pledged, and we will be continuing to do so. Please make your tax-deductible contribution payable to the Port-land Amateur Radio Club (we get credit as an organization for this) in any amount you can give toward the protection of Amateur spectrum from the clutches of big business.
