Multnomah County ARES Receives Donation
Thanks to a generous donation from Rotary Club of East Portland, Multnomah County ARES will be able to purchase four sets of pac-ket radio system accessories to complete emergency packet capa-bilities. The donation of $1084 from the Rotary's Disaster Relief Fund was designated for the pur-chase of TNCs and power sup-plies, to be installed in each of the four Portland Fire Bureau Battal-lion Headquarters Stations.
These designated ARES funds will be kept in a separate PARC account from the General Fund. Details of this transaction will appear in next month's issue of the sPARC gap.

Member News
NB7F is the callsign of PARC's newest Extra Class member. You may know him as KD7CTF, Lee Hopper, a past Treasurer of PARC and a member of the Repeater Committee. Lee is a first class kit builder, having assembled almost every piece of QRP and VHF gear in his SE Portland shack. In addition, Lee has assembled key components for the control systems for our repeaters and has done a fine job. Lee is active mostly on QRP CW with his Elecraft K2, one of the first K2 kits in this area. See his photo at http://www.QRZ.com. Congratulations Lee!

Ad Rates
dvertising insertion rates are based on the column inch, based on a column width of 3 1/2 inches for all advertising.
The standard rate (12 insertions per year of the same copy) is billed at $24.00 per column inch for one year's insertions. For example, a Business Card ad is 2 column inches, and would be billed at $48.00 for the year. Space sold for full page-width ads (half and full-page ads) will be billed at twice the number of vertical inches of the layout (7 1/2" wide by either 5 or 10 inches for half or full-page insertions, respectively).
Copy preparation is the responsibility of the advertiser. Advertising contracts are available by emailing the Treasurer, and insertion rates are payable in advance.
