FROM  Chris Murray, McKenzie River Broadcasting, Eugene.

Tuesday at 5:00 pm, the communications building on Dead Mountain outside of Oakridge, Oregon was broken into. The thieves managed to put many
transmitters out of service.

1. The Oakridge Police
2. The Oakridge Fire / EMS
3. KKNU-FM Translator
4. KMGE-FM Translator
5. Orb's Channel 11 Translator.

This was a professional hit. All the items were unscrewed inside the rack.
It seemed that they knew what was inside the building. By the time the Oakridge Police dispatched someone to the site due to their main channel repeater being off, they were gone by the time officers made the 8 minute
trip up the mountain. The thieves were most likely listening to a scanner.

Missing from the building:

A Motorola MTR2000 100 Watt VHF Repeater. ($6000.00) [ Oakridge Police Dept. ]
