PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
The message from the President this month is: RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP! The club converted all members to a calendar year renewal system last spring
both to reduce the amount of paperwork the treasurer and membership secretary have to deal with and to help clarify our cash flows into the treasury. Most of you would have received a renewal letter in 2000 which
renewed you through 12/31/2000 by pro rating your Y2K dues. The next round of renewal letters will be for 2001 and you should see these in January.
Please note also that the officers are aware of some confusion in the ranks regarding this changeover - some people attempted to renew thru 12/31/2001 or weren't aware of the pro ration and paid the full (i.e., $18) dues amount. Darrell and Lee will make every attempt to get these things squared away. I have to say that I've heard some whining about this and I ask that member's stop and think before complaining - this is only a hobby and dues
are more like a donation than a fee for services rendered. Darrell and Lee are certainly not engaged in a scam to collect 18 bucks from unsuspecting hams. 'Nuff said.
