We all should to take an opportunity to thank Dave Stover KC7YOE for being PARC's representative at the meetings necessary to arrange this event. This is the third year Dave has taken on this load for us. I know it takes up a lot of time over the year. When you see him shack his hand and say "Thanks". He has been a great asset to the Club.
Thanks from all of us Dave. Great Job! The PARC B of D

WE EAT at NOON!
The picnic location will be under two ample shelters so rain is not a worry. Please bring your family and non-Ham friends, but
NO PETS. Especially welcome are New Hams & Hams without a Club.
This is special chance to meet people you hear on the air but never get to meet at your own Club meetings or events so come on out and have an Eyeball QSO with your fellow area Hams.

Please note!

The Picnic is occurring on the same day as the ARRL's September VHF/UHF QSO Party.
Darrell And I will be busy setting up the Contesting station up on top of Rocky Butte. Also the Contest starts at 11:00 am so I'm not sure if we will make it to the picnic. We will try to stop by if we can make it.
If you have VHF/UHF see if you can give us a contact on Simplex 50.125 mhz SSB, 144.200 mhz SSB, 145.73 mhz FM.  If the Contesting isn't too hot and heavy we'll be glad to chat with the kids and Non-Hams. Once you get home you might try VHF contesting.
There are a couple of thousand Hams in the Portland area and probably most of them have 2 meter or other VHF gear but few ever try VHF/UHF Contesting. Try it, it's an eye opener. See what you can do without repeaters. You are also welcome to visit us on Rocky Butte.
